Yvel Signed By Affliction, To Face Barnett At Day Of Reckoning
The Affliction promotion has signed yet another jobber MMA fighter as according to MMAjunkie.com, former PRIDE fighter and 11-year MMA veteran Gilbert Yvel has signed a three-fight deal and will make his Affliction debut against none other than Josh Barnett at the promotion’s “Day of Reckoning” event on January 24; M-1 was the first to announce the fight.
Yvel (35-12-1) has fought some of the bigger names in MMA, including Wanderlei Silva, Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort and Cheick Kongo while Barnett’s last bout was a win over Pedro Rizzo - his third straight victory. With the Yvel signing, the Day of Reckoning fight card looks like this:
