Yamamoto Off DREAM 5 Card

Norifumi Yamamoto

In what has to be a disappointment for DREAM fans, according to Sam Caplan of FiveOuncesOfPain.com, Norifumi Yamamoto was pulled from Monday’s DREAM 5 card, due to a knee injury; Yamamoto indicated to the Japanese MMA media that he injured his knee while preparing for his bout with Joseph Benavidez.  He added that while attempting a flying knee, he landed awkwardly on his right leg and heard a pop in his knee.  The current diagnossis is believed to be a partial tear of his ACL, which will probably sidline Yamamoto for at least six months.  One thing is for certain – it will be very difficult to find a replacement for Yamamoto on such short notice; stay tuned to Octagon Buzz for any further developments.
