White Says St. Pierre-Penn Fight A Possibility

This would be a fight definitely worth the price of admission – Georges St. Pierre vs. B.J. Penn; alas, there’s some obstacles that appear in the way as according to Jason Perkins of fightline.com and confirmed by UFC president Dana White, there is talk about a St. Pierre-Penn fight but that the fight would happen only if St. Pierre “buzzsaws” through Jon Fitch.  White added, “Georges St. Pierre has to get by Jon Fitch first.  Fitch is no joke.  If St. Pierre buzzsaws through Fitch then yes, we’ll do BJ vs. GSP.”

White also said that the move up would not mean that Penn would vacate his lightweight title, adding, “BJ will keep the title and go to 170.  Penn also said he’ll come back down to defend the title at lightweight.”  Whit also stated that Penn would not face the winner of the Kenny FlorianRoger Huerta fight, contradicting what Penn has said earlier last week; White further clarified, saying, “BJ will not fight the winner of Huerta and Florian.  Penn wants GSP.  He even wants me to pull the Fitch fight.”  Like that’s going to happen.
