Just recently, WEC announced that WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz is now an official event; the event will take place on March 6, 2010 in Columbus, OH at Nationwide Arena, which has hosted UFC 68: The Uprising, UFC 82: Pride of a Champion and UFC 96: Jackson vs. Jardine.

According to WEC general manager Reed Harris:

“We are really excited to bring our event to Columbus on the same weekend as The Arnold Sports Festival. Knowing that the weekend draws tens of thousands of the sporting world’s best athletes and enthusiasts to Columbus, WEC is proud to present the best of the best in the lighter weight classes in an event that is a ‘can’t miss’ for MMA fans.”

With the fight card just now beginning to fill up, here is the tentative card for WEC 47:

MAIN CARD

• Brian Bowles (c) vs. Dominick Cruz (for bantamweight title)
• Miguel Torres vs. TBA
• Jens Pulver vs. TBA
