11,000 fans made the journey to Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday night to witness UFC 100; while 11,000 seems like an average number for a major UFC event, also consider that the live gate at the event was rather substantial – $5,100,000.
Later this week, the official numbers will come out, courtesy of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. But assuming the numbers ring true, the live gate could be the second-highest in UFC history; interestingly enough, the average ticket price for UFC 100 was $464. BAsed on figures put together by MMAjunkie.com, UFC 100 is tied for the second-highest grossing event in the organzation’s history. The top five are:
- UFC 66 (Liddell vs. Ortiz II): $5,397,300 gate (12,191 attendance)
- UFC 83 (St. Pierre vs. Serra II): $5,100,000 gate (21,390 attendance)
- UFC 100 (Lesnar vs. Mir II): $5,100,000 gate (11,000)*
