It looks like welterweight Paulo Thiago will have an opponent after all after his initial opponent, Thiago Alves, was moved over to UFC 107 to face Jon Fitch. Fortunately for Thiago, he will have an opponent at UFC 106 as he will face UFC newcomer Jacob Volkmann.
Although the match is one of 4 bouts yet to be announced, Thiago’s manager, Wallid Ismael has informed Terra magazine of the bout.
Thiago is coming off the first loss of his career as he suffered a decision loss to Jon Fitch at UFC 100 in July; meanwhile, Volkmann is an undefeated newcomer to the UFC, having last fought for Bellator Fighting Championship as he won a fight against Kevin Knabjian back in May.
