The Ultimate Fighter Re-Ups For Five More Years

The Ultimate Fighter

Whether it was because of Forrest Griffin‘s win over Quinton Jackson or not, there’s no denying the popularity of The Ultimate Fighter.  For those of you who are fans of the show like I am, there’s some good news for you as according to Gary Herman of FiveOuncesOfPain.com, UFC president Dana White has announced that there will be 5 more seasons of the popular television series that is broadcast on Spike TV – which includes season 8, which has already wrapped up production and will debut in September.

While popular, the show has had declining ratings as of late yet has been a fertile proving ground for up and coming MMA fighters; the big question is whether they will tinker with the current format of the show.  Not only that, but they will probably have to spend more money to bring quality fighters in, but like most thing sin the business world, the saying is true: to make money, you have to spend money.  It is simply the costs of doing business, no matter the industry.  Of course, it helps that Griffin won on Saturday; that can only enhance the future ratings of this coming season of TUF.
