The UFC announced that the card for UFN 18 is now filled up; the card will take place on April 1 at Sommet Center in Nashville, TN and will be televised live on Spike TV. Below is the final card:
A The Ultimate Fighter alumnus now has a relative participating in TUF 9, according to MMAJunkie.com; Robert Browning, brother of TUF alumnus Junie Browning, has been chosen to participate in TUF’s ninth season. He will be one of 16 fighters chosen to compete in the opening elimination round; above is Browning in an American Fight League bout. Notice the colorful entrance and some questionable actions within the Octagon.
Although it isn’t a done deal as of this writing, it appears that Nissen Osterneck will get into the Octagon to face Nate Loughran at UFC Fight Night 18, according to MMAJunkie.com; assuming the deal is signed by both fighters, it will be part of the event, scheduled to take place on April 1 tentatively in Nashville, TN.
Osterneck made his debut at WEC 36 and lost to Jake Rosholt; despite the loss, Osterneck was snatched up by the UFC as they eliminated the WEC’s light-heavyweight and middleweight divisions. Meanwhile, Loughran’s last bout was at UFC Fight Night 16 when he lost to Tim Credeur. With this impending signing, UFC Fight Night 18 currently looks like this*:
Imagine this – a bout featuring an alumnus from The Ultimate Fighter 8 who tends to be controversial going up against an up and coming talent in the Octagon. If you thought Junie Browning going up against Cole Miller, then you’d guess correctly; according to MMAWeekly.com and verified by sources, Browning will make his debut against Miller at UFC Fight Night 18, scheduled for April 1.
The semifinals have been completed and the finals are now set for The Ultimate Fighter 8, which will take place on December 13; below is the final fight card for the event:
The Ultimate Fighter 8 participant Junie Browning, in what is probably an attempt to rehabilitate his image along with refining his fight game, has joined up with Xtreme Couture, the gym run by UFC fighter Randy Couture, according to MMAWeekly as confirmed by representatives of the gym. As anyone who has watched TUF 8 already knows, Browning was pretty much the fighter everyone loves to hate.
With his move to Xtreme Couture, perhaps Browning can silence his critics as to whether he is taking his budding MMA career seriously. Browning joins an impressive stable of fighters at Xtreme Couture, which includes Tyson Griffin, Gray Maynard and Mac Danzig; also factor in that Couture and coach Shawn Tompkins making their presence felt will only make things better for Browning – assuming that he remains focused and not revert to his TUF 8 self.
Episode 6 of The Ultimate Fighter 8 brings to you more of Junie Browning as he finally gets to fight in the octagon. Eliot Marshall gets some face time, too. Oh – Roli Delgado’s black belt comes into question, as well. Probably the best episode of TUF 8 thus far.
Junie Browning is still not popular. The pranks tend to highlight this episode. Remember the name Eliot Marshall in this and the upcoming episodes of TUF 8.
Episode 3 of The Ultimate Fighter 8 in its entirety. Typically, you know what to expect during most TUF episodes, but this one stands out because of one prospect- Junie Browning. Remember that name, especially after you view this episode.
