Rua Wants Evans Or Franklin

Now that Mauricio Rua has been given a clean bill of health by his doctors, he is chomping at the bit to get some action; to that end, Rua has stated who he would like to face next in the octagon, according to Fighters Only Magazine.  According to Rua,

“Rashad fought the perfect fight, he obviously studied Chuck and worked hard on his game plan.  He may be undefeated but everyone is there to be beaten and I would like to be the first one to do it.”

There is a little bit of a problem there, however – Evans has already been promised by UFC president Dana White a championship title belt bout against current light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin.  Rua, being mindful of that fact, has also stated that he would not mind facing Rich Franklin, winner of his most recent fight against Matt Hamill at UFC 88 last Saturday.  Rua facing Evans wasn’t a very realistic possibility as it were, so a fight with Franklin would make the most sense.
