Quinton Jackson Update

As of late, there has been a lull on anything even remotely related to the whereabouts and condition; well, there is some news to report.  According to Josh Gross over at SI.com, there is some current news on Jackson and how he is doing; below are the bits and pieces:

  • Jackson Fires Juanito Ibarra, Trainer/Manager

It all began upon Jackson’s loss on points to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86; the decision to fire Ibarra came shortly after the fight.  Seems that like a lot of things in life, this too was money-related, according to a friend of Jackson’s.

  • Jackson’s Mental State

According to a source, “He knows what he went through.  He knew he had an emotional breakdown that led to a mental breakdown. Not eating and not sleeping kind of helped with that.”

  • What’s Jackson’s Next Move?

With a court date around the corner, Jackson is looking for new representation; also – not two weeks after the incident in which he nearly hit some people, the UFC is interested in signing Jackson for a November 2008 return to the octagon to a third bout with Wanderlei Silva.
