Palaszewski Signed By WEC, Curran Now A Bantamweight

Yet another former IFL fighter has joined a Zuffa-owned promotion as according to Chris Yucus of Sherdog, Bart Palaszewski has recently signed a six-fight deal with the WEC; Palaszewski said that he will be ready to compete as early as the WEC’s next event on September 10 in Hollywood, FL.  Palaszewski’s claim to fame is as a member of Pat Miletich‘s Silverbacks team in the IFL, racking up 8 consecutive wins for the organization.  His last bout was in June at Adrenaline 1, where he stopped Jeff Cox.

Meanwhile, Pat Curran, who lost to Urijah Faber in a WEC featherweight title bout last December, announced that he was moving down to the bantamweight division; Curran said that the move was in the hopes of “re-inventing himself”.  Curran will have his hands full as there’s stiff competition in the bantamweight division, such as Miguel Torres and Yoshiro Maeda; Curran is hoping to stop a 2-bout losing streak with his last loss being back in June when he lost to Mike Brown.
