Fresh off WEC 47, the organization wasted little time in adding a pair of bouts to their next event, WEC 48: Aldo vs. Farber; the event will take place on April 24 from Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA.
Rounding out the five-bout main card will be Anthony Njokuani against Shane Roller while Antonio Banuelos takes on Damacio Page.
Njokuani, originally from Nigeria, comes into WEC 48 with a 3-fight win streak, with all three via TKO; meanwhile, Roller will bring a two-fight win streak. His last bout was a last-gasp, rear-naked choke victory over Danny Castillo at WEC 44 in November 2009.
Banuelos, like Roller, carries a 2-fight win streak into WEC 48 with decision wins over Kenji Osawa and Scott Jorgensen at WEC 44 and WEC 41, respectively while Page brings a two-fight win streak of his own to the event, with stoppage wins over Will Campuzano and Marcos Galvao at WEC 43 and WEC 39, respectively.
With the addition of Njokuani vs. Roller and Banuelos vs. Page to the fight card, WEC 48: Aldo vs. Farber is as follows:
- Jose Aldo vs. Urijah Faber
- Benson Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone
- Mike Brown vs. Manny Gamburyan
- Anthony Njokuani vs. Shane Roller*
- Antonio Banuelos vs. Damacio Page*
- Alex Karalexis vs. TBA*
