Noons-Diaz Still On?

The catfight between Elite XC and K.J. Noons may be a bit less hairy as according to MMANews.com, sources are claiming that a possible rematch between Noons and Nick Diaz is still possible; according to this “source”, Noons still refuses to take a fight with Diaz but EliteXC is still pursuing the bout.

Part of the problem regarding this potential fight is – you guessed it – money, as Noons has stated on more than one occasion that it was unfair for Diaz to make nearly three times the money he made despite the fact that Noons is the EliteXC champion.  Despite these open grievances, Noons has said that he is willing to work with the company to make things right.

All of this acrimony dates back to 2007, when EliteXC stripped Noons of his title, feeling that Noons was ducking a bout with Diaz; during this timeline, EliteXC has been trying to get this bout together by the card date (October 4), but with no success.  In the meantime, there have been rumors floating around about a possible Nick Diaz-Eddie Alvarez fight, although nothing has been officially signed by either camp.  Once there is more information regarding the Noons-Diaz situation and other EliteXC happenings, Octagon Buzz will get them out to you, along with up-to-date MMA news.
