New York MMA Vote Postponed

State of New York seal

Well, so much for the UFC hosting an event at Madison Square Garden in December; according to Tom Hamlin of MMAWeekly.com, Bill 1-11458-A, which is the bill that would legalize the sport of mixed martial arts in the State of New York, will not come up for a vote in front of the state legislature’s Tourism, Arts, and Sports Development committee until January of 2009.  Elizabeth Nostrand, legislative director the bill’s sponsor, Assemblyman Steve Englebrecht,  said that following a messed-up voting session on the house floor last Tuesday, Englebrecht decided to simply postpone the vote.
