More Positive Drug Test Results From Affliction, EliteXC Fighters?

Both the Affliction and EliteXC promotions have received partial results from drug testing from their roster of fighters who took part in the respective promotions’ events; however, according to Tom Hamlin of MMA Weekly, there is the likelihood that more names may show up on the list of fighters who fought for the Affliction: Banned and EliteXC Saturday Night Fights events.  As of this writing, only Justin Levens of the first eight fighters tested from Affliction has tested positive; Levens tested positive for oxymorphone, an analgesic (prescription pain killer); none of the first eight EliteXC fighters have been tested as positive.

However, according to California State Athletic Commission Assistant Executive Officer Bill Douglas, the initial test results for the remaining fighters for each promotion indicate that there are more positive test results forthcoming, with Douglas adding, “Both cards are not out of the woods yet.”  He wouldn’t divulge the number of or names of the fighters in question, but added that initial test results of the remaining fighters’ “A” samples returned more positive results.  Douglas stated that the earliest that the confirmed test results would be released would be August 11.  Stay tuned to Octagon Buzz for the latest developments in this situation as we will include the names of the fighters who test positive.
