Marquardt Signs With Strikeforce, Woodley His Next Opponent?

Although it has been eight months since the UFC let Nate Marquardt go due to elevated testosterone levels, he has still managed to find employment within the MMA game.

The former UFC middleweight contender has signed with Strikeforce, as confirmed by UFC president Dana White during last night’s edition of UFC Tonight on FUEL TV.

With that in the books, a source is saying that Marquardt’s first opponent in the cage could possibly be Tyron Woodley. Verbal agreements have already taken place.

Prior to signing with Strikeforce, Marquardt spent an uneventful six months with BAMMA, where his debut was postponed twice; he would subsequently part ways with the promotion.

His last bout was a unanimous decision win over Dan Miller at UFC 128 back in March 2010.
