It looks like Sean Sherk will not be a part of UFC 108, which is scheduled for January 2, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV, according to the fighter’s manager, Monte Cox.
Cox said that the fightersustained a cut over his right eye that required multiple stitches; Sherk had been, prior to this mishap, promoted to a main card bout against Jim Miller at the event. This is the second time that Sherk had to pull out of a UFC fight as he had been pulled from a bout against Gleison Tibau at UFC 104 last October when he suffered a separated right shoulder during training. As a result, Duane Ludwig will replace Sherk as Miller’s opponent at UFC 108.
Miller’s last bout was a second-round TKO of Steve Lopez during UFC 103 last September while Ludwig, who earned a submission victory against Ryan Roberts at Ring of Fire 36 in Denver on December 4, is 2-0 in his brief UFC career, with his most recent bout being an 11-second TKO against Jonathan Goulet at Ultimate Fight Night 3 back in January 2006.
