Koscheck, Johnson To Co-Main UFC 106

In a lot of instances in the UFC, when a big fighter pulls out of a bout and another fighter takes his place on short notice, the organization will take notice and reward them down the road. It looks that this instance has taken place again as because of Brock Lesnar’s illness postponing his bout with Shane Carwin, Josh Koscheck and Anthony Johnson have agreed to step in and fight in a co-main event at UFC 106.

Not a bad fight for a co-main in light of the circunstances that made this happen. This wouldn’t be the first time Koscheck took a fight on short notice as he did this before at UFC 90 when Diego Sanchez pulled out just before the event. Meanwhile, I hope that Johnson – with this opportunity – learned that you have to make weight, no matter what. I still cannot understand how he managed to come in 6 lbs. over weight in his fight last Saturday.

By the way, with Lesnar-Carwin now taking place at UFC 108, the main event at UFC 106 is Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin. Not a great event, but I’m pretty sure that the UFC has had worse PPV’s in the past.
