Jackson Trainer to Retire If Champion Loses At UFC 86

Typically it is a boxer or MMA fighter who retires when he loses a fight; well there is a slight variation of that going around; according to Neil Davidson of The Canadian Press, Juanito Ibarra, trainer of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, has promised to retire from the sport should the champion lose to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86.  As Ibarra explained to UFC’s preview television show on Thursday, “It was a moment, it really was.  It was a moment there at (training) camp, me feeling very confident in Rampage.  Nothing against Forrest at all, but it is what it is.”  I’ll give Ibarra this much – he has the utmost confidence in Jackson to put his own career on the line.  But suppose Griffin beats Jackson Saturday (And I predict that he will)?  I’d hate to be the one to hear Ibarra’s post-fight comments should Griffin beat him.
