Jackson To Return To The Octagon?

Despite the fact that legal charges are hanging over his head, Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the UFC will more than likely allow Quinton Jackson to fight.  UFC president Dana White, an outspoken supporter of Jackson, said that he believes that Jackson had committed no crime and was simply ill, due to lack of sleep no food or liquid – except for energy drinks.  White also added that Jackson had on dsrugs or alcohol in his system at the time of his arrest and was not given medication to help him after the arrest.

There’s also the speculation as to whether Jackson would fight Wanderlei Silva; although a source close to the situation states that a fight between Jackson and Silva is unlikely – which makes sense since Silva beat Jackson twice while both were in PRIDE.  But apparently, Jackson will fight again – maybe as soon as the UFC card in Portland, OR on November 15 – and the charges shouldn’t impede him at all.  White clarified to some degree about Jackson’s chances of fighting again adding,

“Of course he’ll fight. If he was doing drugs, if he had been drunk, if he had gone out there and done what he did because he was pissed off at someone, that would be a completely different story. But he was ill. And in this company, we support our friends and anyone who works for us when they’re ill and have problems. He was ill, the incident occurred, and now he’s fine.  Rampage feels awful about the woman’s baby, but he had nothing to do with it. And the (traffic incident) occurred because he was very ill and not with him in control of his faculties.”

Once more developments unfold regarding the Jackson situation, Octagon Buzz will have them for you, along with up-to-date MMA news.
