Guida Misses Weight, Dropped From TUF 8

He’s an experienced MMA fighter with a 17-17 record, yet he couldn’t make the roster of The Ultimate Fighter 8 reality series; who is this fighter, you ask?  None other than Jason Guida, older brother of current MMA fighter Clay Guida, according to MMARated.com; multiple sources confirmed the report, stating that Guida somehow managed to miss weight for his first fight.

Specifically, Guida arrived heavy to the taping, under the assumption that unlike on TUF 7, he wouldn’t have to fight his way onto the final cast for this season; when it was discovered that the fighters would have to face off immediately to gain a spot in the house, Guida managed to miss the 205-pound limit necessary to compete – comparable to Gabe Rudiger‘s embarrassing exit from TUF 5 for the same reason.  There’s been no word on who will replace Guida in the fight he was scheduled to compete in; the final cast has been set and is as follows:

Light Heavyweights: Ryan Bader, Antwain Britt, Jules Bruchez, Lance Evans, Karen Grigoryan, Jason Guida, Ryan Jimmo, Kyle Kingsbury, Tom Lawlor, Ryan Lopez, Vinicius Magalhaes, Eric Magee, Eliot Marshall, Sean O’Connell, Shane Primm, Krzysztof Soszynski.

Lightweights: Jose Aguilar, Fernando Bernstein, Junie Allen Browning, Rolando Delgado, Joseph Duarte, Charles Diaz, Efrain Escudero, Brandon Garner, David Kaplan, Brian McLaughlin, Wesley Murch, Shane Nelson, Phillipe Nover, Ido Pariente, John Polakowski, George Roop.
