Losing streaks are never a good thing, especially if you’re a UFC fighter under contract with the organization. Four fighters found that out recently as the UFC released Kevin Burns, Edgar Garcia, Shane Nelson and Darrill Schoonover as first reported by MMASurvival.com.
Burns was on a three-fight losing streak with consecutive losses to Anthony Johnson, Chris Lytle and T.J. Grant after earning victories over Roan Carneiro and Johnson.
Garcia came into the UFC undefeated but suffered consecutive losses to Brad Blackburn and DaMarques Johnson.
After a pair of victories over Aaron Riley and George Roop, Nelson suffered a pair of unanimous decision defeats at the hands of Riley and Matt Wiman.
Meanwhile, Schoonover was let go following his The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale TKO loss to James McSweeney.
