Former KOTC Champion Signed By Bellator

A former heavyweight champion from King of the Cage has signed on the dotted line with Bellator Fighting Championships.

According to the promotion, they on Thursday signed Tony Johnson, Jr. and he will debut with KOTC on April 16 at Bellator 41, taking on Carlos Flores; the signing was first reported by Sherdog.

Bellator 41 is scheduled to take place from the Cocopah Resort and Casino in Yuma, AZ and will air on MTV2.

A former NCAA wrestler at Iowa State University, Johnson, Jr. began his MMA career in 2008 and has lost only once, losing his KOTC heavyweight belt in his first title defense to Strikeforce’s Daniel Cormier back in August of 2010.
