UFC Fight Night 20 will have a bout on their fight card after all as the UFC signed a The Ultimate Fighter alum recently.
Jesse Forbes, who will replace middleweight Steve Steinbeiss, has agreed to a new deal with the UFC and is expected to take on Nick Catone at UFC Fight Night 20, which will take place on January 11 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA and will be televised on Spike TV. Several sources have confirmed the signing, although bout agreements haven’t been signed as of this post.
Forbes, a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 3, suffered a loss to Matt Hamill at the show’s finale and has since gone 11-2, including a current five-fight win streak.
Catone, on the other hand, has had an up-and-down tenure in the UFC, earning a submission win over Derek Downey at UFN 17 in February; sicne that time, he has suffered a pair of defeats at the hands of Tim Credeur at UFN 18 in April and Mark Munoz at UFC 102 in August. Suffice it to say, his UFC existence could be on the line when he faces Forbes at UFN 20.
With Forbes’ recent signing, UFC Fight Night 20 is as follows:
MAIN CARD
- Nate Diaz vs. Gray Maynard
- Evan Dunham vs. Efrain Escudero
- Tom Lawlor vs. Aaron Simpson
- Brad Blackburn vs. Amir Sadollah
PRELIMINARY CARD
- Chris Leben vs. Jay Silva
- Jesse Lennox vs. Rick Story
- Nik Lentz vs. Thiago Tavares
- Mike Guymon vs. Rory MacDonald
- Kyle Bradley vs. Rafael dos Anjos
