Evans To Face Griffin For Light Heavyweight Title, But When?

It is becoming increasingly clear that Rashad Evans will eventually face Forrest Griffin for the UFC light heavyweight title; the big question that remains is not so much if they face each other but when.  According to Bloody Elbow, sources have stated that it is becoming very likely that their bout could very well be moved from UFC 92 to another show.

The thought is that because of Brock Lesnar and Randy Couture being the main event in Las Vegas in November and Georges St. Pierre facing B.J. Penn in Las Vegas in January, the December UFC event would not have the preferred pay-per-view buy rate if there were no star names to headline the show.  Also another thing to consider is that recently defeated Chuck Liddell – always popular in Las Vegas – could fight in December, as well.  But after his most recent – and ugly to watch – defeat, that’s not exactly a lock.  As of this writing, it looks like Frank Mir will take on Antonio Nogueira at UFC 92.  Once more developments regarding the Rashad Evans-Forrest Griffin fight unfold, Octagon Buzz will have them for you, along with the most up-to-date MMA news.
