Emelianenko One Busy Man

Fedor Emelianenko

I don’t know of many fighters who fight more than maybe three times a year – tops, yet one MMA fighter has that beat as according to M-1 Global president Vadim Finkelstein, Fedor Emelianenko will fight 3 times in the next 6 months.  Finkelstein added, “Two more fights are planned for Fedor.  The first one in October in the context of the next Affliction show in conjunction with M-1 Global.  The second one at New Year’s Eve in Japan, most likely it’s going to be the M-1 Challenge Finale and Fedor will compete in a superfight, probably his opponent will be the winner of ‘Fighting Fedor’ or another top fighter.”

For those of you not familiar with “Fighting Fedor”, that name is the title of a reality show which features 16 heavyweight contestants worldwide; the contestants are vying to get the chance to face Emelianenko in the show’s finale, more than likely to take place on New Year’s Eve.  The premise of the series is that the contestants travel to St. Petersburg (Russia, not Florida) where they live and train with Club Red Devil (Emelianenko’s fight team).  From there, the fighters face one another in consecutive matches over the span of the series until only one fighter remains.
