EliteXC Signs Trio To Female Division

Although EliteXC has an already impressive roster of female fighters, the promotion, according to FiveOuncesOfPain.com, has signed three more – Marloes Coenen, Sarah Kaufman and Takayo Hashi – to multi-fight contracts; the signings have been confirmed by EliteXC head of Fighter Operations Jeremy Lappen.  The dates for the fighters’ debut are not known as of this writing; however, if they do not debut during 2008, then early 2009 is the likeliest timeframe for their debut bouts.

Coenen (15-2) is from Holland and was at one time considered one of the top fighters in the world until lately, yet is still considered a Top 10 fighter nonetheless.  Kaufman’s (7-0) last two fights took place with the now-defunct Hardcore Championship Fighting promotion, with both wins being TKO’s over Molly Helsel and Ginele Marquez.  Hashi (11-1) has fought primarily in Japan with the Smackgirl and DEEP promotions; her most recent bout was a victory over Amanda Buckner at a Fatal Femmes Fighting event this past April in Los Angeles.
