Din Thomas Signs With Shine Fights
Upcoming MMA organization Shine Fights has signed former UFC vet Din Thomas and is expected to make his debut in March 2010, according to Shine officials.
Wednesday’s release included a quote from Thomas in which he called out former boxer Ricardo Mayorga, who himself has recently signed with Shine Fights; terms of Thomas’ deal and details in terms of the organization’s next event were not announced.
Thomas, a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter 4, sported a 5-4 record while with the UFC, with his most recent wins coming against Dustin Piekin and Gabe Lemley following his release from the UFC; Mayorga debuted professionally as a boxer in 1993. He hit his peak between 1999 to 2003 by going 16-0-1 with 13 knockouts, capping the streak by defeating via TKO Vernon Forrest. Since then, he has gone 3-4, with his most recent bout being a 12th-round KO loss to Shane Mosley back in September 2008.
