Strikeforce’s next event will finally have a main event on their fight card as it has been learned that Nick Diaz will take on Marius Zaromskis for the organization’s vacant welterweight title.

The fight, which has verbally agreed upon by both fighters, will take place at Strikeforce: Miami, scheduled to take place on January 30 and will take place at BankAtlantic Arena in Sunrise, FL. Expect an announcement of the matchup sometime during the telecast of Strikeforce: Evolution Saturday night, according to sources close to the situation.

Diaz hasn’t fought since his submission win over Scott Smith at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields back in June and was scheduled to have participated at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg, except that he was scratched when he failed to appear for a pre-fight drug test mandated by the California State Athletic Commission.

Zaromskis, who recently signed a contract with Strikeforce, made his presence known when he, at DREAM’s Welterweight Grand Prix, won the lightweight belt with two KO victories.
