Affliction Interested In Arona?

It is entirely possible that former top ten light heavyweight contender Ricardo Arona may step back into the cage as according to GracieMag.com, current UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has been quoted a saying that Affliction has put out feelers for Arona, adding,

“It’s not just Brazilian fans who are looking forward to a return from Arona,” Nogueira is quoted as saying. “The folks at Affliction have already sent a message through my brother Rogerio. ‘We would like to hire Arona, we want to see him fighting in our events, you may tell him that – we want to negotiate with Arona now.’”

Arona has not fought since April 8, 2007, when he lost to Rameau Thierry Soukoudjou during PRIDE’s last event; he is still considered one of the better grapplers at 205 pounds in MMA and currently sports a record of 13-5, defeating such notables as Wanderlei Silva, Alistair Overeem, Murilo Rua, Dan Henderson and several others.  When more concrete information becomes available, Octagon Buzz will have it for you, along with the most up-to-date MMA news.
